About NEET UG 2026
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET UG 2026 is the national-level entrance examination held once in a year for admission to undergraduate medical courses in India. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) under the National Medical Commission (NMC), NEET-UG is mandatory for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, BVSc & AH, and B.Sc Nursing (Military Nursing Service) courses.As per Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, there shall be a uniform NEET (UG) for admission to undergraduate courses in each of the disciplines of BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses of the Indian System of Medicine.
As per government regulations, no medical institution in India can grant admission without a valid NEET score. It is the single most important examination in the career of any medical aspirant in India — a 720-mark test that determines access to every MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH seat in the country.

Languages for NEET UG 2026 (Re-examination)
NEET UG 2026 will be conducted in offline mode (pen and paper based) in a single shift from 2 PM to 5 PM in 13 different languages.
The 13 languages are: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Candidates must select their preferred language at the time of application — the question paper will be provided in the chosen language along with English as a bilingual option for all regional language options.
Pattern of NEET UG 2026 (Re-examination)
The NEET UG 2026 (Re-examination) will follow the same pattern as the original NEET UG 2026 examination. It will be conducted in offline Pen and Paper mode with 180 questions carrying 720 marks — 45 questions each from Physics and Chemistry, and 90 questions from Biology.

Age Limit
Candidates must be aged 17–25 years and must have been born on or before December 31, 2009.

Number of Attempts
As per the current NMC guidelines, there is no restriction on the number of attempts for NEET UG, subject to the age limit being met. Candidates can appear multiple times until they reach the upper age limit.

Application Form and Fee Payment — NEET UG 2026
The NEET 2026 application form along with notification was released in February 2026. The NTA started the NEET Registration Process 2026 on 8th February 2026. NEET Registration Last Date to apply was 8 March 2026, later extended. NTA activated the NEET Correction Window link for only registered candidates to make changes in editable fields.
Previously, the last date for NEET 2026 registration was 8 March 2026, but the National Testing Agency extended the last date to 11 March 2026. You could apply till 9 PM on 11 March 2026. The NEET 2026 registration application fee could be paid up to 11:50 PM on 11 March 2026. The application fee did not include any kind of penalty.
Step-by-Step Application Process for NEET UG 2026 (Re-examination)
The NEET 2026 registration process was completed in 3 major steps: Creation of account, Filling of Details including documents and photograph, and Fee Payment.
Step 1 — Create an Account
Visit the official NEET portal at neet.nta.nic.in. Click on “New Registration.” Enter your name (as in Class X certificate), mother’s name, father’s name, date of birth, email ID, and mobile number. An OTP will be sent to your registered email and mobile for verification. On successful registration, a system-generated Application Number and Password will be provided. Save these credentials carefully.
Step 2 — Fill the Application Form
Log in using your application number and password. Fill in all personal details, academic details, contact information, exam city preference (three choices in order of preference), medium of question paper (from 13 languages), and category details. Upload required documents and photographs.
Step 3 — Upload Documents and Photo
Along with the form, you have to upload a recent photograph, thumb and finger impressions, Class 10 certificate, valid ID Proof, and category documents. All uploads must meet the file size and format specifications prescribed by NTA
Step 4 — Review and Submit
Preview all filled details carefully. Once submitted, changes can only be made through the Correction Window
Step 5 — Pay the Application Fee
Complete fee payment through the online mode. After successful payment, download and save the confirmation page and fee receipt.
Step 6 — Correction Window (if needed)
NTA activated the NEET Correction Window link on 10 March 2026, and only registered candidates were allowed to make changes in the editable fields till 12 March 2026, by visiting the official website neet.nta.nic.in. Once the NEET Correction window closes, no more change requests are allowed

What Happens After NEET UG 2026 (Re-examination)
Answer Key Release
The NTA is expected to release the Re-NEET UG 2026 Answer Key following the NEET UG 2026 (Re-examination) scheduled for June 21, 2026. The answer key is released in two phases — first, NTA publishes the provisional answer key, allowing students to double-check their answers and file objections if they discover any discrepancies. After reviewing all objections, the agency publishes the final answer key alongside the NEET UG 2026 (Re-examination) results.
Result Declaration
The NEET UG 2026 result will be released by NTA after the NEET UG 2026 (Re-examination) on June 21, 2026. The result date will be announced officially on neet.nta.nic.in. Candidates must keep their scorecard safely as it will be required throughout the medical counselling process
Counselling
After result declaration, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts All India Quota (AIQ) counselling for 15% of seats in government medical colleges. State governments conduct state quota counselling for the remaining 85% of seats. AIIMS and JIPMER are also filled through NEET UG scores. Private medical colleges conduct their own institutional-level counselling using the NEET score
